If you haven’t stumbled upon Regina Spektor, I’d recommend you do so! Her music is sooo good. My favorite song of hers is “Hotel Song.” I’ve been listening to her a lot lately while knitting up a storm!!! Realizing that it’s already the end of October has sent me into the fury that I often find myself in this time of year. Around the beginning of September, I gingerly think ‘I’m going to make Christmas presents for everyone this year.’ Around Halloween, I start to panic… Every… Year. Anyway, here are some of the things I’ve been working on…

Other than knitting, I’ve been traveling a lot! I went to Bedford, PA to visit my sister. I was surprisingly impressed by all the shops in the town. It’s filled with antiques, country crafts, and consignment shops. We ate at a little cafe that totally reminded me of Alto Cinco in Syracuse, NY. I ate the best Pumpkin soup I’ve ever had there! I’ve also been going to West Virginia a lot lately which makes me all too happy! 🙂 And somehow, I’ve gotten myself addicted to collecting antique hardware. I love the look of old hooks and knobs. My favorite place to get them is Anthropologie. More to come on what I’ve been doing with these knobs…!

Stay happy 🙂

On Tuesday, my mom and I took a trip to Towson, MD so she could get fabric for more pillows and placemats for Seabliss. While we were there, we stopped at Black Sheep Yarn Shop in Cockeysville.  After buying $160 worth of yarn, Christmas shopping is officially done! Now it’s the annual knitting marathon to get things finished by Christmas! Here are some sneak peeks of what I’ve been working on…

Noro Striped Scarf

I’m using Noro Silk Garden and Cascade Yarn Eco Alpaca for this. It almost seems crazy that such a simple pattern can produce such a gorgeous result!

Dane Shawl

This is going to be for my mom. I’m using Blue Heron Soft Twist Rayon that I got at a trunk sale at Lovelyarns in Hampden, MD. I think I’m going to go up a needle size so the leaves show up better.

I’ve got homemade tomato sauce and meatballs in the crockpot and it smells soooo good! Once it’s finished, I’ll post pictures and the recipe!
